CIMARRON SOFTWARE SERVICES INC DevOps Engineer in Houston, Texas

DevOps Engineersto support the Orion Program, NASA's next-generation spacecraft for deep space exploration. This role will focus on systems-level thinking and software integration, ensuring that mission-critical software solutions function seamlessly within the Orion architecture. You will play a key role in developing tools, optimizing data pipelines, and ensuring Orion's software systems operate efficiently for upcoming Artemis missions. The Orion spacecraft is at the heart of NASA's Artemis program, designed to take astronauts beyond Earth's orbit to the Moon and Mars.
Ideally, the selected candidates for this job would be located onsite in either Houston, TX or Denver, CO. However, hybrid or remote work options may be available.
Key Duties:
- Identify bottlenecks in the development process and propose solutions.
- Implement continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Analyze code coverage and suggest improvements to code quality.
- Facilitate team retrospectives to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and maintain engineering tools to improve software workflows, automation, and system efficiency.
- Support data pipeline development, optimizing the flow and processing of mission data. :::
Required/Desired Skills, Experience, and Education

- Ability to complete a pre-employment background check and drug screening, which will include but is not limited to testing for marijuana use.
- 2 or more years of related experience.
- Experience with C++ and/or Python.
- Experience implementing continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Strong understanding of software development practices, programming languages, and relevant tools.
- Ability to collect and analyze data to identify trends and patterns.
- Ability to identify root causes of inefficiencies and propose effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:
- Experience with tools development to support software engineering and automation.
- Background in data pipeline development, including data processing and integration.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across multi-disciplinary teams.
