Robert Half Application Support Engineer in Houston, Texas

Description

We are seeking a dedicated Application Support Engineer to join our team in the Oil & Gas industry, located in Houston, Texas. This role involves maintaining and enhancing our IT Field Operations Applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for project implementation, system maintenance, application administration, internal support, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the implementation of various projects related to our applications, documenting end-user requirements in relation to new applications.

• Perform maintenance on various systems and technologies, and respond to reported application issues promptly.

• Aid system administrators in setting up assigned applications and administering system interfaces.

• Coordinate various IT systems with lifecycle management of assigned and dependent applications.

• Manage documentation for all supported applications, ensuring all documentation is current.

• Test application upgrades before releasing them to the business and provide recommendations for application system upgrades and enhancements.

• Provide on-call support during non-business hours to Operations on an as-needed basis.

• Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

• Identify potential opportunities to increase efficiencies and/or improvements to existing processes based on knowledge and experience.

• Travel domestically and internationally as required.

Requirements

• Prior experience in Application Support within the Oil & Gas industry.

• Proficiency in Linux and SQL.

• Proven experience in Field Service Management.

• Strong Customer Service skills with the ability to effectively communicate with different stakeholders.

• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to software applications.

• Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

• Proven track record in maintaining and improving applications in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances and manage unexpected disruptions.
