We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk in Houston, Texas, 77092, United States. The role is primarily focused on the efficient and accurate processing of invoices and maintaining up-to-date vendor statements. The successful candidate will also be tasked with office administration duties sitting at the front desk and will play an integral part in organizing office events.

Responsibilities:

• Code invoices to the appropriate GL accounts and enter them in the accounting system

• Ensure timely approvals for invoices and respond promptly to all vendor or internal inquiries

• Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment

• Complete wire, ACH, and check payments in the accounting system and the banks according to the payment process

• Maintain electronic records of all invoices, payments, and supporting documentation within the AP folders

• Keep AP aging and vendor statements current and up-to-date

• Assist with mail sorting and distribution, and sign for packages as needed

• Assist with organizing office parties/planning and company events as needed

• Maintain inventory of marketing materials and office supplies, and manage order placements

• Receive guests at the front desk and assist with setting up for visitors.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years experience in an Accounts Payable role

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processes

• Experience with Check Runs

• Knowledge of Coding Invoices

• Proficient in Data Entry tasks

• Experience in Invoice Processing

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in Vendor Contacts management

• Competence in Office Administration

• Background in Event Planning

• Experience in Ordering Office Supplies
