Description We are offering an opportunity for an Accounting Specialist to join our team located in Houston, Texas. The role will revolve around the management of accounts payable and receivable, with an emphasis on detail orientation and organization. The role is part of a contract employment opportunity, and the successful candidate will be expected to perform a variety of tasks related to the accounting function.

Responsibilities:

• Handle accounts payable and receivable tasks, ensuring accurate and timely processing

• Maintain detailed and accurate customer credit records, updating any changes as required

• Process customer credit applications, ensuring all information is accurate and complete

• Monitor customer credit accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies

• Take necessary actions to collect delinquent payments, adhering to company policies and regulations

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial reports

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company's financial policies and procedures

• Attend to customer inquiries regarding credit accounts and resolve any issues promptly and professionally

• Perform other duties related to the accounting function as assigned by the management Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• Proven experience in an Accounting Specialist role or similar.

• Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations.

• Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.

• Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.

• Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software (JDE or other full-scale ER software).

• Proficiency in analyzing and managing PP& E (property, plant, and equipment).

• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

• Skill in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes and procedures.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.

• Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality.

• Strong time management and organizational skills.

• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
