What will you do?

The Technical Operations Support Manager has leadership responsibilities and is accountable for the actions of the Operations Technical team within the Operations group. They will lead manufacturing engineers & subject matter experts, ensuring timely delivery of the following in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements including Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Distribution Practice (GDP) guidelines as well as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):

  • Process ownership and continuous improvement

  • Investigation into Operational deviations

  • Implementation of corrective and preventative actions (CAPA)

  • Change Management

  • Technology Transfer into Operational use.

The Manager Technical Support will report into the Senior Operations Manager and will work closely with the Managers & Team Leaders developing the talent pool ensuring a high level of operational knowledge is developed and retained.

Responsibilities:

The role requires an in-depth understanding of clinical trial supplies and the services that Fisher Clinical Services can provide according to quality standards and timelines. The position will entail the following tasks:

  • Develops, mentors and performs annual reviews for direct reports.

  • Develops performance improvement plans where required.

  • Establishes team member objectives in alignment to company goal tree, initiatives and vision.

  • Handles all personnel issues, PMDs and job descriptions as required.

  • Owns the portfolio of deviation writing, CAPAs, Change Management and Process Improvement

  • Collaborating closely with production and QA Post-Approval teams to ensure PRs are according to customer and regulatory requirements.

  • Provides support to improve documentation right first-time metrics.

  • Leads key departmental improvement projects, support regulatory & client audits or other Operations leadership representation roles as the need arises.

  • Undertake ad hoc duties as directed and agreed by the Snr Operations Manager.

How will you get here?

Education:

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering or equivalent education

  • 3-5 years professional experience in GMP Operations, packaging preferred.

  • Excellent organizational, planning, verbal, written and numerical skills with the ability to analyse and define solutions and prioritise multiple tasks to meet timelines.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to ensure positive relationship building.

  • Consistent track record of performing complex tasks.

  • Proactively anticipates, understands and responds to the needs of both internal and external clients to meet or exceed their expectations.

  • Excellent command of English

  • Ability to express detail in simple terminology, both written and verbal

Experience required of/in:

  • Proven experience working with direct management of teams.

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or other highly regulated industry.
