Founded in 1921, Straub Medical Center includes a 159-bed hospital in Honolulu, a network of neighborhood clinics and a visiting specialist program that reaches throughout the state of Hawai'i. With over 200 physicians who are leaders in their fields, Straub provides its patients with diagnoses and treatments for more than 32 different medical specialties, including bone and joint, heart, cancer, endocrinology/diabetes, family medicine, gastroenterology, geriatric medicine, internal medicine, vascular and urology. Straub is home to the Pacific Region’s only multidisciplinary burn treatment center. The hospital consistently brings new technologies and innovative medical practices to Hawai'i, such as minimally invasive cardiac surgery and total joint replacement.

The Pharmacy department is responsible for ensuring that our patients receive safe and effective medication treatment by practicing high quality pharmaceutical care. We are expanding our services to provide oncology pharmacotherapy expertise in the Inpatient setting and are looking for a Clinical Oncology Pharmacist to optimize and enhance and oversee the care provided.

As the Inpatient Clinical Oncology Pharmacist, you will provide comprehensive medication management (focusing on the management of the antineoplastic medications as well as the complex disease states) of our hospitalized oncology patients while collaborating with physicians, mid-level providers, nurses, other healthcare staff, the patient and their family. This includes ensuring appropriate medication prescribing, reviewing laboratory results and medication orders, monitoring protocol adherence and ensuring continuity of care between patient care settings. In addition, you will provide drug education, participate in multidisciplinary team rounds, oncology pharmacy and therapeutics initiatives, system protocol development and other committee activities. We are looking for someone meticulous and attentive to pharmaceutical protocol, quality control and integrity and who shares our commitment to creating a healthier Hawai‘i.

Minimum Qualifications: Must meet education requirements for Hawai'i state licensing. Current Hawai’i Pharmacist license. Two (2) years inpatient pharmacist or related experience or completion of pharmacy residency training.

Preferred Qualifications: PharmD degree and pharmacy residency training. Cinical pharmacist experience.
