Sun Noodle Human Resources Manager in Honolulu, Hawaii

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting designated geographic regions. The Human Resources Manager will maintain and enhance the organizations HR by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations, HR policies, programs, and best practices.? This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organizes and maintains all employee personnel files and applicant documentation and as dictated by governing agencies.

  • Nurture a positive working environment.?

  • Manage the recruitment and selection process?by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program, counseling manager on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.?

  • Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.?

  • Ensures legal compliance?through?monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; maintaining?proper?records; representing the organization at hearings.?

  • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.?

  • Coordinate with finance and manage payroll processes.

  • Maintains a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.?

  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance?and ensures planning, monitoring, and?appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.?

  • Maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.?

  • Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.?

  • Investigates accidents and prepares reports for insurance?carriers.Coordinates Safety Committee meetings and acts as Safety Director.?

  • Maintains historical human resource records via?filing and retrieval systems;?safe and accurate?keeping?of?past and current records.?

  • Maintains human resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintains human resource staff excellence?by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.?

  • Tracks time and attendance and administers payroll with payroll system, reports vacation, sick, personal day, and holiday use to payroll.

  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.

  • Administers the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.

  • Monitors employee eligibility for benefits plans. Review benefits with employees and processes enrollment, cancellation, or changes. Organizes and manages annual open enrollment communications and election process.

  • Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees.

  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; maintain other records, reports, and log to conform to EEO regulations.

  • Ensures compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility verification; periodically audits I-9 forms.

  • Handles employee relations counseling and investigations, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.

  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.

  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.?

  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES

Emergency Management Team members are responsible for maintaining records, rehearsing?safety?drills and practices, and coordinating department needs related to the?safety?and security of the personnel and spaces they often occupy.As members of a cross-departmental team, EMT members help prepare their departments for various natural and human-impacted crises and circumstances that may affect our staff, resources, and customers. Examples of situations include medical emergencies, natural disasters, weather-resiliency, emergency evacuations, and secure-in-place events.?

  • Maintain Medical and Emergency supply kits by checking assigned supply statuses quarterly.?

  • Inspect evacuation bags and update rosters quarterly.

  • Facilitate accurate hazardous materials documentation practices within your unit.?

  • Communicate policies and procedures between?Safety?Committee and colleagues.Represent?safety, updates or take issues back from department meetings.?

  • Co-facilitate evacuation drills and tabletop exercises to help prepare your department for multiple emergency scenarios.?

  • Train and refresh your direct reports and staff in your zone on emergency procedures, evacuation routes, fire extinguisher locations, and fire alarm pull handles.?

  • Designate appropriate backups for?safety?issues in your absence.?

  • Report unsafe and/or unsecure situations and/or be prepared to address certain situations individually, as appropriate.

  • In times of emergency, know your role and serve as a point person for that role.?

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

At least 8 years in the Human Resources field, with 5+ in management capacity with organizations of 250+ employees.

Bachelors degree in human resources or related field.

People oriented and results driven.

Highly Knowledgeable of HR systems and databases.

Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills.

Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.

In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices.

Demonstrate in-depth understanding and practice of the following processes and regulations: Hiring, Human Resources Management, Benefits Administration, Performance Management, HR metrics, Communication Processes, Compensation and Wage Structure, Diversity, Employee Classification, Employment
