Description

We are offering a position as an Assistant Controller based in Honolulu, Hawaii as part of our Full Time Engagement Professionals. This role is crucial in our team as it involves overseeing the management of accounts payable and receivable, preparing monthly journal entries, managing the general ledger, preparing financial statements, and supervising accounting staff. As a full-time employee of Robert Half, you will appreciate the advantages that accompany a position with a FORTUNE 1000® corporation. You’ll be placed on engagements, but as a permanent employee of Robert Half we look for a one-year commitment to the team. The length of individual projects vary but are usually at least three months. Preference will be given to applicants currently residing in Hawaii due to the nature of the job requirements. Responsibilities:

• Oversee the management of accounts payable, ensuring timely disbursements of payments and smooth operations of automated accounts payable software.

• Manage accounts receivable to ensure collections are on schedule and past due accounts receive prompt follow-up.

• Prepare and review monthly journal entries to accurately account for or accrue other assets and liabilities.

• Supervise the management of the general ledger and reconcile all balance sheet accounts (including bank reconciliations) monthly.

• Prepare monthly financial statements for review and approval.

• Assist in the preparation of audit/tax schedules for the annual audit and tax returns.

• Supervise accounting staff, including a staff accountant and accounting clerk.

• Utilize Accounting Software Systems to streamline accounting functions.

• Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) in a timely and efficient manner.

• Participate in auditing and budget processes to ensure financial transparency and accountability.

Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required

• Demonstrated knowledge of Accounting Functions

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with auditing processes and principles

• Understanding of Budget Processes is necessary

• Experience with Financial Edge software is advantageous

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Strong organization skills and attention to detail

• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
