Business Unit Overview

Global Product Solutions (“GPS”) was formed in 2024 with a mission to innovate, curate and commercialise the full breadth of our investment platform for what our clients need, wherever they are. The team is responsible for driving commercial investment priorities across the platform, innovating the next wave of products and solutions, accelerating our iShares adoption, sharpening our commercial focus on active products and helping clients build better portfolios via actionable market and portfolio insights.

Job Purpose/Background:

The role is for a Director to join and lead the APAC Solutions and Structuring team. Solutions is a strategic priority for BlackRock globally. The team is responsible for business development and structuring of Solutions across the region that enable the transformation of our clients’ businesses. It requires close collaboration with sales heads, country heads and a range of partner functions to identify, cultivate, project manage and deliver solutions-related sales and/or partnerships. The role is also responsible for overseeing the solutions governance and engagement model, as well as relationships with associated teams within BlackRock to ensure the successful design and implementation of Solutions for our clients.

Within the team, you will be responsible for 3 main areas:

Business Development Solutions Structuring Talent Management

Each solutions partnership opportunity is unique, innovative, and transformative. Therefore, you can look forward to a multi-faceted and challenging role that allows you to develop a commercial skillset, consultative sales-style and broad technical knowledge across BlackRock’s platform including investments, technology and knowledge transfer. On the Business Development and Structuring side, this role will lead client pitches, lead the creation of outsourcing/solutions proposals, and drive deals from prospecting to implementation.

The role has significant exposure to C-Suite clients and internal senior leadership, therefore, the ability to work under pressure and to the highest of standards is essential. Overall, the role requires deep levels of internal relationship building with daily collaboration and engagement across all areas of the APAC business (investments, technology, in-country sales teams, and operations). You will be responsible for driving long-term, strategic, and complex opportunities with an entrepreneurial mindset and strong client focus.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • In partnership with GCB and Strategic Clients, input into solutions sales strategy and the prospecting of new solutions opportunities

  • Own the full deal cycle of solutions opportunities including client pitching, scoping, structuring the solution, pricing and legal negotiations

  • Lead senior stakeholder management and communications (e.g. presentations and briefings)

  • Build strong internal network across BlackRock platform that can be leveraged to build new outsourcing proposals and pitches

  • Maintain deep understanding of the BlackRock platform across all our capabilities

  • Manage direct reports, building diverse and inclusive culture, and develop team talent

  • The opportunity to take ownership of a specific client segment, country, market or theme from a solutions perspective

Qualified candidates should demonstrate the following qualities/skills:

  • Strong commercial and client business model acumen with entrepreneurial mindset

  • Strong sense of personal accountability regarding business and risk assessment and decision-making

  • Intellectually curious with the ability to take initiative and deliver results in a matrixed organisation

  • Structured critical thinker with problem-solving abilities who can organise people under pressure and pull-in key decision makers to prioritise issues and respond to clients and senior management

  • Ability to produce management-level quality presentations and business briefing memos

  • Experience in management consultancy firm particularly in asset management would be highly
