Business Analyst, Business Planning & Strategy

This role is responsible for strategic planning and analytics to drive growth for the American Express Consumer, Commercial and Insurance business across Asia. This position will be supporting pivotal business decision making in the Executive Office of the Head of American Express International Card Services Asia.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategic Business Planning

  • Manage planning process for the Consumer, Commercial and Insurance business in Asia.

  • Conduct market and consumer analysis to identify business potential and coordinate with different stakeholders to drive management actions.

  • Collaborate with Finance team and support in managing investment and operating expense budget.

  • Support in preparing presentation materials and logistics management of regional summit and regular business updates to senior leadership team.

Metrics and Performance Tracking

  • Monitor market trend and competitive landscape that present potential business opportunities or threats.

  • Ensure on-going tracking of scorecard performance and key business metrics to identify challenges or opportunities.

  • Develop efficient report tracking framework for report automatization and effective performance tracking.

  • Support Sales and Account Development Incentive Plan review and alignment to ensure adherence to international policy.

Operation, Communications and Project Management

  • Lead internal communication across various stakeholders in different markets to ensure effective and transparent communication.

  • Manage and operationalize multiple growth projects simultaneously with strong adherence to timelines and good engagement level with business/function leaders in the organization.

  • Coordinate with Market Business Planners in Asia to drive cross-market synergy.

Qualifications

  • University graduate or equivalent

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Financial Services industry preferred

  • Business analytics experience and ability to drive data insights

  • Demonstrated strong analytical and organizational skills with great attention to details

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

  • Ability to break down complex ideas into understandable and actionable messages

  • Strong relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Good verbal and written communication in Chinese and English

  • Experience in data analysis and visualization tools such as SQL/Tableau is a plus
