Manulife Actuarial Manager in Hong Kong, Hong Kong

This role will support in IFRS reporting for Group submission including reserve, Source of Earning Analysis, and other Group requirements. Also, the role is expected to assist in the model change management process to ensure the changes to the actuarial model are properly managed and implemented to the production model. Other areas of tasks include Group Capital Management and related business forecasting under IFRS basis. While the team has successfully transformed from C-IFRS to IFRS 17 reporting, we are actively transforming our valuation process for both efficiency and information quality. Produce insightful analysis to assist management in managing business performance.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support in IFRS 17 reporting for Group submission including reserve, Source of Earning Analysis, and other Group requirements

  • Assist in the model change management process

  • Support in delivering Group capital requirement and other ad hoc tasks related to IFRS 17

  • Business forecasting and support audit review

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Risk Management, Mathematics or Statistics, or related disciplines;

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with willingness to deal with complex financial issues and concepts.

  • Strong technical/modeling skills, knowledge or experience in Microsoft Access, VBA and AXIS is an asset

  • Attention to detail.

  • Good communication and relationship skills.

  • Able to work both independently and in a team setting, under pressure and deadlines.

  • Effective command of English, both spoken and written.

  • Actuarial Specialist title will be considered for more experienced candidates
