Summary:
The Production Supervisor I is responsible for maintaining a safe and productive work environment, following all applicable regulations. Ensure production and quality goals are achieved through teamwork and clear communication. Train and develop operators for success in the above goals and for future opportunities. Create a positive and highly effective working environment based on mutual respect and a shared goal of being the number one supplier to our customers. Establish and maintain a solid working relationship with both internal departments as well as external resources.
Responsibilities:
Direct and coordinate the activities of team members engaged in the production or processing of materials, such as Technical Operators and Sr. Technical Operators
Enforce safety and other applicable rules and regulations
Read and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs
Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activates within or between departments
Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production and quality goals
Manage hiring, retention, evaluation, and development of hourly employees
Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions
Monitor quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
Conduct production planning and ensure key performance indicators are met
Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new team members, or assign team members to experienced operators for training
Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to production or processing standards
Confer with management, peers and others to resolve team member’s problems, complaints, or grievances
Interpret and apply company policies and procedures, specifications, blueprints and job orders for team members
Conduct thorough and timely Layered Process Audits in appropriate work areas
Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required
Vocational Certificate or associate's degree preferred or equivalent, relevant experience
Experience:
3 to 6+ years of experience in complex mechanical assembly, tooling, and manufacturing assembly equipment, including PLC equipment
1 to 3+ years of leadership experience
Working experience with PPAP requirements
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost analysis, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
