Actalent Controls Engineer in Holland, Michigan

Job Title: Controls EngineerJob Description

Seeking a skilled Controls Engineer for a 12-month contract-to-hire position. This role involves writing PLC code from scratch for new machines, reading and editing prints in AutoCAD electrical, and programming robots, primarily using Fanuc and ABB. The position also includes working with motion control, pneumatics, and vision systems. Expect 15% travel, mostly within the states and occasionally to Mexico, with all travel expenses reimbursed and a $45/day travel premium. The standard working hours are 7AM-4PM with flexibility as needed. While the expectation is to be on-site, remote work is possible with prior communication.

Hard Skills

  • PLC programming from scratch in Allen Bradley

  • Robotic programming in Fanuc or ABB

  • Reading and editing in AutoCAD electrical

  • Siemens PLC

  • Ability to design from scratch

  • Fanuc certification

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)

Work Environment

Work in a clean, temperature-controlled environment. The building is newly renovated with individual conference rooms and polished spaces. The shop floor is also well-organized and spacious.
