ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Primary Role

  • Always follow convenience store policies and procedures.

  • Maintain cleanliness and neatness of canopy, fuel station, and isles.

  • Help dust, clean windows, and sweep floors. Clean as you go.

  • Assure the pump area and store are free of debris and trash.

  • Empty trashcans accordingly and discard them in the dumpster. Replace trashcans with new bags.

  • Stock the coolers with the correct beverage or food item. Rotate items accordingly.

  • Assure payment from pumps is brought to the main till and recorded immediately.

  • Ensuring situational awareness is being displayed at all times.

  • Responsible for the reconciliation of your daily paperwork.

  • Receive and stock inventory.

  • Must maintain a working knowledge of operating various fuel pumps and/or grades of fuel. This is to include but is not limited to Gas, Diesel, Fuel Oil, Kerosene, Propane, and Cam II.

  • Safety

  • Do not carry more than two pump payments on yourself.

  • Must be able to lift & carry store inventory and other supplies/equipment up to 50lbs.

  • Report any drive-offs, or over-pumps immediately to Management or the Cashier.

  • Attempt to copy the license plate if possible, to report to Tribal Police.

  • Engage in the daily safety checklist to ensure our customers and employees are safe

  • Ensure all fuel lines from pumps are placed on an island and away from possible damage

  • Responsible for reconciliation of your daily paperwork and adhering to all cash handling procedures and policies.

  • Perform other related duties and activities as requested by the Executive Team, District Manager, and/or Store Management Team.

    SUCCESS FACTORSWe will know the Fuel Attendant is successful when:

  • Adheres to all safety standards, preventing common workplace accidents including slips and falls, cuts, and burns, and uses proper lifting techniques.

  • Properly uses safety equipment, adheres to fire prevention policies, and properly storage of chemicals/cleaning supplies.

  • Adheres to security policies concerning keeping company assets secured and following cash handling policies.

  • Adheres to cleanliness standards to include the exterior and interior of buildings.

  • This includes the parking lot, lights, canopy, fuel island, garbage cans, windows/doors, sidewalk, landscaping, dumpster areas, walls, floors, walls/corners/ceilings, bulletin boards, gondolas, displays/racks, restrooms, counter area, food service area, fountain/roller grill/condiment areas, storage areas, coolers, cooler doors, freezer, and soda area.

  • Adheres to merchandising standards including the use of proper displays, following planograms, having the correct signage, following promotions, and using proper code dates.

  • Has a positive attitude, has a friendly demeanor, greeting all customers with a smile and please/thank you.

  • Follows appearance standards and acts with a sense of urgency.

  • Is knowledgeable about the products and services we offer.

    BEHAVIORAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • Must have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Must have the ability to interact with all levels of employees and customers, both directly, and over the telephone.

  • Must consistently positively represent TMG.

  • Must be respectful of professional boundaries.

  • Must be able to stand for periods of up to 10 hours.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous customer/fuel service experience.

  • Reliability and ability to work flexible hours.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to adhere to policies/procedures/standards (written and oral).

  • Able to operate effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to make correct changes (basic mathematical skills).

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequent reaching above waist, chest, and shoulder level as well as below waist level

  • The continuous need for manual dexterity of both hands (handling, gripping, fine finger controls, etc.)

  • Continuous standing on tiled surfaces for all tasks and hip flexion while walking for all tasks.

  • Frequent lifting of boxes of supplies/products weighing from <5 – 50 lbs. vertically from floor to knuckle height.

  • Occasional lifting of milk crates weighing between 5 – 30 lbs. vertically from floor to knuckle height, knuckle to shoulder height, or from fridge to counter height.

  • Frequent exposure to cold/below-freezing and high heat temperatures.
