Wal-Mart Associates, Inc. Senior Data Scientist in Hoboken, New Jersey
Duties: Design and develop machine learning models for different products on Walmart’s eCommerce platform across web and native mobile applications. Build scalable, low-latency, cloud-based data pipelines and runtime services using Python, Spark, Tensorflow, Dockers, and Couchbase. Innovate on core search areas including but not limited to recommendation engine, query indexing, predictive search, metric tracking, and scaling for future. Set up and conduct Interleaving tests and A/B tests for hypothesis evaluation. Develop classification, regression, and recommendation models using cutting edge tools and technology.Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 year of experience in an analytics related field; OR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years of experience in an analytics related field.Skills required: Experience with data strategy, data source identification, and conducting exploratory data analysis activities. Experience with analytical modeling. Experience with model assessment and validation. Experience with model deployment and scaling. Experience with code development and testing. Experience with data visualization. Experience with problem formulation. Experience with applied business acumen.
