FOOTWEAR PRODUCT ENGINEER I VIETNAM

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Nike is hiring for a Footwear Product Engineer I to join its team in the southern part of Vietnam. The ideal candidate should possess experience and knowledge in footwear development and manufacturing processes. They should demonstrate the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure excellence in product and process during the creation phase. The candidate should also have the ability to work with other functional teams to reach agreements, assist in decision-making, and promote Nike’s best practices in product and process development while maintaining manufacturability.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

As a Footwear Product Engineer I, you’ll be expected to work daily with our Product Creation Center’s team and Nike engineer to build the best footwear product. You will support driving footwear engineering’s best practices, utilize technical capabilities and knowledge to influence product and process excellence during developing and manufacturing. This includes resolving product issues in development, commercialization, and post-production with the manufacturing team. Mentoring and influencing our Product Creation Center’s engineers as well as working closely with our manufacturing teams to help transition our products into manufacturing is also a part of the role. Additionally, you are expected to understand and identify engineering gaps at Nike and the factory, and to drive the use of data-driven process development and project management tools.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

As an Engineer, you will primarily work at our Partner’s Product Creation Center (PCCs) with cross-functional teams to drive, lead, consult, and ensure product/process excellence during development. You will collaborate and communicate with Nike Headquarters (WHQ) Product Engineers to align for decision-making, driving Best Practices, owning quality, meeting design intent, and ensuring correctness.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in combined footwear manufacturing and technical capability.

  • A University degree in related technical/engineering.

  • Basic knowledge of lasts, footwear patterns, tooling, chemical engineering, manufacturing processes and various footwear constructions.

  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of footwear manufacturing machinery, understanding of material properties, test methods, applications, proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, sketches and digital files in 2D/3D.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload and critical thinking and analytical skills.

  • Ability to communicate (both written and spoken in English) proficiently with multiple stakeholders with positive energy.

  • Ability to drive and coach teams with courage, and influence on mastering the fundamentals.
