SAIC System Safety Engineer in HILL AFB, Utah

Description

SAIC is seeking an excited and motivated System Safety Professional to support the Air Force’s ICBM weapon system and the Sentinel program located at the Hill AFB in Utah. The System Safety Professional will provide technical expertise in Safety-related efforts and contribute on the Systems Safety team responsibilities. You will work on priorities, fostering strong relationships, meeting business goals, and through teamwork and working with stakeholders (internal and external).

The specific responsibilities of System Safety Professional position include:

  • Evaluate program documents, resolve safety issues, and coordinate with system assurance manager to analyze safety requirements and prepare required presentation material for all safety evaluation meetings

  • Ensure compliance to organization requirements and administer all human safety

  • Analyze and perform assessment on all safety hazards and recommend improvements to all human factor engineering processes

  • Ensure compliance to all safety requirements, and evaluate all system engineering documents

  • Supports required tests and monitor all work according to DoD, Air Force, state and federal regulations

  • Develop and implement all safety policies and procedures and coordinate with management staff to analyze and identify all risks and prepare reports for same

  • Fulfill System Safety responsibilities defined in DoD, Air Force, and MIL-STD Instructions

Qualifications

  • US Citizenship

  • Secret security clearance

  • BS Engineering, Computer Science, Software, Mathematics, or Physics.7 years of progressive experience in systems integration and analysis of military hardware and software systems/processes (5 yrs with MS degree) and 2 yrs experience leading system design, integration, analytical and system safety efforts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Top Secret security clearance

  • Experience in ICBMs

  • Experience with MIL-STD-882E

  • Experience with range safety

  • Experience conducting Systems Safety Hazards Analysis

  • Experience with Risk Management

  • System safety professional experience/certified

  • Knowledge/experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and/or requirements derivation using DOORS or equivalent
