Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with management to resolve occupational health issues and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Design and conduct studies to assess employee exposure to health risks and evaluate the effectiveness of occupational health programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Oversee and manage biological monitoring programs.
  • Analyze research data, summarize findings, and compile reports for review and action.
  • Propose, lead, and implement programs aimed at improving employee health, including ergonomic assessments.
  • Conduct audits of health programs and recommend necessary improvements.
  • Provide training and presentations to employees on health and safety regulations, ensuring they are aware of relevant workplace safety concerns.
  • Implement corrective actions and suspend operations when required to ensure safety standards are met.
  • Advise on workers' compensation claims related to workplace exposures.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest occupational health and safety legislation and apply this knowledge in daily tasks.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field from an accredited institution. Alternatively, prior certification as a 7-level Bioenvironmental Engineering Technician or equivalent industrial hygiene technician is acceptable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial hygiene, with a thorough understanding of industrial hygiene principles, practices, and procedures. Relevant internships may be considered in lieu of direct experience if combined with a degree in Industrial Hygiene.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform prolonged walking, standing, sitting, or bending. Must be able to carry up to 20-30 pounds as needed.

Work Environment:

  • Standard office and fieldwork settings.
  • Occasional outdoor work in varying conditions.
  • Work schedule: Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a maximum of 40 hours per week.
