Job Summary

The Associate Engineer will provide support to the Stray Voltage program by scheduling and coordinating work that will be carried out by contractors and PSEG LI in-house personnel for testing facilities for stray voltage and visual inspections of the distribution circuits on an annual basis in compliance with the approved Project Implementation Plan. The Associate Engineer will also assist in the performance of field inspections to ensure work is being performed in compliance with the contract and within company standards, procedures and safety programs.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities (include and are not limited to):

Plan and schedule work, coordinate with the contractors and in-house supervision to ensure execution of the work.

Ensure inspection documentation is completed and submitted by the field crews.

Develop and utilize a tracking system to ensure all prescribed testing and inspections are completed on an annual basis.

Assist in the performance of field inspections to ensure work is being performed in compliance with the contract and to enforce all safety policies and procedures.

Respond to notifications of abnormal conditions in the field and ensure that proper classification of these conditions are assigned and forwarded to the appropriate organizations to address. Verify work is completed to correct abnormal conditions on time and is properly documented.

Ensure timely invoicing and verification of completed work. Responsible to process invoicing and year-end accruals to ensure charges are booked in the appropriate budget year.

Provide monthly financial forecasts, manage efforts to stay on budget, Provide current and forward-looking work plans to provide projections.

Ensure compliance with both PSEGLI Policies and Procedures and applicable regulatory agencies

Job Specific Qualifications

Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

• 0-2 years of relevant engineering experience

• Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office applications

• Clear and concise writing and verbal communications skills

• Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills; strong planning and organizing skills; adaptable and results-oriented

• Possess leadership skills, professionalism and customer/client focus

• As the job requires driving to Company locations and off-site assignments and events, must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license with a safe and satisfactory driving history

Preferred / Desired Skills:

• Electrical utility experience

• Familiarity with the transmission and distribution systems

• Able to read / understand electrical one lines
