Kanaan Communications, LLC Foreman Telecom Underground in Hickory, North Carolina

Overview and Essential Functions

  • Responsible as a crew leader; proper, accurate and timely submission of dailies and Production Reports

  • Oversees crew assignments including daily work assignments, path determination and communication with the crew, customer and general public

  • Ability to drill/pull cable lines and other equipment used in the installation of telephone or cable TV wires

  • Ability to use ground rod pounding equipment

  • Direct traffic flow in accordance with local and state DOT guidelines

  • Reads and implements design prints and other related instructions pertaining to the job

  • Maintain and operate equipment/vehicle safely following all manufacturer safety specifications and traffic regulations

  • Maintains proper inventory on vehicle for work assignments

Qualifications

  • Minimum of six (6) months previous drill crew experience

  • Must have a CDL Class “A” driver license

  • Must have an understanding of basic and advanced construction principles

  • Knowledge of “safety systems” associated with trenching and/or drilling including set-up and emergency procedures

  • Ability to operate drill, vacuum unit, locater wand and other equipment related to the path creation by means of directional drilling
