Miami International Elevator Elevator Mechanic in Hialeah, Florida

Job Title: Elevator Mechanic - Full time position Company: Miami International Elevator Location: Hialeah, FL
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Install and assemble elevators based on blueprints and specifications, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Regularly inspect elevators to identify issues, perform preventive maintenance, and test safety features, controls, and emergency systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot elevator malfunctions, replacing worn or faulty parts to prevent breakdowns.
  • Conduct emergency repairs to restore elevator service, particularly in critical settings like hospitals or high-rise buildings.
  • Modernize older elevators with newer technologies and safety features, ensuring compliance with current building codes and regulations.
  • Test newly installed or repaired elevators for proper operation and make necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and code violations.
  • Prioritize safety by adhering to safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Engage with building owners, managers, and occupants to schedule and communicate maintenance and repair activities.
  • Address unexpected challenges and find innovative solutions during elevator work.
Requirements:
  • Ability to read and work from technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Proficiency in electrical systems and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and traction elevators, as well as modern elevators with advanced electronic controls.
  • Familiarity with building and elevator codes.
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Physical capability for standing, lifting, climbing, and working in various conditions.
  • Proficiency in using hand and electrical tools, hoisting and rigging equipment.
  • Comfortable working at heights and in proximity to moving equipment.
  • Adaptability to challenging working environments.
  • Possession of a valid Florida Driver's license.
  • High School completion
  • 2 years of experience in the offered job or related field
