Job Title: Elevator Mechanic - Full time position Company: Miami International Elevator Location: Hialeah, FL
Duties and Responsibilities:
Install and assemble elevators based on blueprints and specifications, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
Regularly inspect elevators to identify issues, perform preventive maintenance, and test safety features, controls, and emergency systems.
Diagnose and troubleshoot elevator malfunctions, replacing worn or faulty parts to prevent breakdowns.
Conduct emergency repairs to restore elevator service, particularly in critical settings like hospitals or high-rise buildings.
Modernize older elevators with newer technologies and safety features, ensuring compliance with current building codes and regulations.
Test newly installed or repaired elevators for proper operation and make necessary adjustments.
Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, inspections, and code violations.
Prioritize safety by adhering to safety procedures and guidelines.
Engage with building owners, managers, and occupants to schedule and communicate maintenance and repair activities.
Address unexpected challenges and find innovative solutions during elevator work.
Requirements:
Ability to read and work from technical drawings and blueprints.
Proficiency in electrical systems and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of hydraulic and traction elevators, as well as modern elevators with advanced electronic controls.
Familiarity with building and elevator codes.
Analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Physical capability for standing, lifting, climbing, and working in various conditions.
Proficiency in using hand and electrical tools, hoisting and rigging equipment.
Comfortable working at heights and in proximity to moving equipment.
Adaptability to challenging working environments.
Possession of a valid Florida Driver's license.
High School completion
2 years of experience in the offered job or related field
