Insight Global Project Manager in Hermitage, Tennessee

Job Description

The project manager provides hands-on advanced project management and support for multiple projects across numerous functional and technical units within the Firm, utilizing ITS and PMO standard tools, processes and methods. Is expected to work effectively in a fluid, fast-paced environment, employing strong relationship management, advisory skills, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills. With some amount of supervision from PMO full-time employees and managers and oversight from Portfolio Managers, this person will manage the aspects of SDLC and Project Delivery Process for specially allocated ITS projects and programs that range in scope, budget and team size to the level of large projects, involving medium to high levels of risk and complexity and budgets of approximately $150,000 - $1.5M. Contractor is able to identify and manage cross-dependencies, proactively present to Portfolio Managers and resolve issues and risks and impacts. Works with varying levels of leadership across Information Technology Services (ITS) and the firm from staff through Partner, Principal, and Managing Director level. Utilizes and executes all applicable PMO and related ITS processes, methodologies, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Ensures the accuracy and consistent execution of all projects. Skillfully manages scope of projects and the expectation of the stakeholders, and the forward progress of teams responsible for the work.

ITS PMO project managers work together with teams and stakeholders at many levels to provide consistent, high quality project and management services including, but not limited to, duties such as: collaborating with engagement managers to lead delivery teams; creating and delivering executive reporting; helping the team perform proactive issue and risk and change management and solutioning; coordinating with teams and leaders on escalation management; integrating work across teams; proactively identifying/managing key dependencies; providing a unified approach to successful delivery and focus on achieving business value.

Other duties include:

Develops, manages, and maintains comprehensive, accurate project plans and schedules, as well as performs estimation, forecasting, planning, analysis, issue and risk and change management, escalation management, meeting facilitation, variance analysis, and status reporting to the portfolio manager and ITS leaders. Deliverables and work outcomes subject to peer and PMO management review.

Simultaneously manages work across multiple streams of the Deloitte project lifecycle effectively, which includes requirements definition and business alignment, systems development and configuration, data and systems coordination, communications, end user adoption, training and deployment.

Leads teams in the delivery of projects with medium high level of complexity, directly affecting the firm's strategy to meet technology and business requirements on time and within budget.

Builds relationships to deliver quality products across stakeholders, leaders and teams, including CIO/ITS and customer leaders, channel leads, product owners, shared resource leaders, technical team leads, technical and non-technical teams.

Proactively identifies, assesses risks and issues, proposes solutions to PMO and ITS leadership, helps negotiates across stakeholders to assist with resolving conflicts and roadblocks supports the teams and alerts proper leadership contacts to any performance issues.

Serves in an advisory and consultative role to teams and stakeholders on all project-related activities, with assistance from PMO leadership team and other employee PMs.

Possesses advanced level skills in facilitating executive-level steering committees, producing and delivering communications to the executive level and experience auditing projects and summarizing results and producing management reports.

Executes pre-established project management methodologies and standards including those within the ITS Project Delivery Process and SDLC, PMI PMBOK, and ITS PMO tools and procedures, also ensures they are followed and utilized by project team members.

Responsible for providing and maintaining accurate and timely project information in all project plans, communications, status reporting, SharePoint sites.

Responsible for effective project kickoff, identification of all project stakeholders, helping to define and clarify project roles and responsibilities.

Has responsibility for maintaining effective management of multiple concurrent project assignments, project tracking, issue resolution, time gathering and reporting, and communicating project progress.

Works with all stakeholders to help identify and confirm resource necessary resources, throughout the project lifecycle.

Uses current ITS PMO standard tools to build detailed, effort-driven project schedules.

Conducts regular project reviews and communicates the status of projects in both formal and informal settings with the portfolio manager and others. Responsible for knowing and communicating a project's status accurately throughout project lifecycle. May include presenting status to business and technical steering committees.

Assists in the identification, escalation, and resolution of potential issues that may negatively impact a project or project deliverables and escalates those to the portfolio manager; recommends solutions and, upon approval, implements actions to remove project obstacles. Escalates as appropriate.

Leads project teams.

Demonstrates an advanced understanding of both quality assurance and software development processes and methodologies, with the ability to share knowledge with peers, development and QA groups, and project team members.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

4-8 years of Project Management experience

Ability to run iteration planning and DSUs

Ability to work with multiple teams to establish dependencies, risk, and drive to completion (check developers work)

Comfort collaborating with external teams

Agile and CICD experience

Communication and interpersonal skills Safe PM or PO certification null
