Position Title:Diesel Mechanic or Diesel Technician

The diesel mechanic or technician position will ensure safety is a priority and company policies are followed and adhered to and effectively communicate with the team. This person will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and routine mechanical repairs safely and on time.

Reports to:Terminal, operational leader or regional manager.

Diesel Mechanic / Diesel TechnicianQualifications:

  • Dependable and trustworthy
  • Subject to pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • Flexible hours, include weekends and being on call.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CDL preferred
  • 1-2 years diesel mechanic experience preferred
  • Experience with telephone, computer, and Microsoft Office required
  • Knowledge of truck, transportation requirements and DOT regulations
  • Ability to think, act quickly to anticipate and resolve problems
  • Handle multiple tasks concurrently
  • Work well under pressure
  • Work independently and make decisions
  • Some travel required.
  • Strong communication skills.

Diesel Mechanic / Diesel TechnicianResponsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Knowledge of ELD preferred Fleetmatics.
  • Ensure safety inspections on trucks are followed per company policy.
  • Schedule around work load of 25 trucks to ensure preventative maintenance is completed monthly and properly logged.
  • Accurately diagnosing problems and communicate with supervisor before ordering parts for trucks.
  • Maintain supplies for trucks and communicate records of daily needs to the team.
  • Respond to driver questions and/or concerns to maintain good driver relations.
  • Work with drivers on preventive maintenance needs.
  • Communicate with dispatcher on equipment availability, PM scheduling, etc.
