Description
We are seeking a Project Accountant to join our organization in the Real Estate & Property sector. The position is based in New York and plays a crucial role in our team. Your responsibilities will include managing and maintaining accurate customer credit records, processing credit applications, and addressing customer inquiries. This role also involves monitoring customer accounts and taking necessary actions.
Responsibilities:
• Ensuring accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications
• Managing and maintaining precise customer credit records
• Addressing and resolving customer inquiries in a timely and detail-oriented manner
• Monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate actions as needed
• Assisting with transactional work, including billing, receivables, and payables
• Supporting month-end close through the preparation of workpapers
• Utilizing Microsoft Excel, Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, and Sage Intacct for various accounting tasks
• Conducting account, balance sheet, and bank reconciliations
• Preparing and posting journal entries to the general ledger
• Providing advice to clients while helping them navigate through challenges.
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory
• Experience with account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
• Demonstrable knowledge of general ledger operations and journal entries
• Familiarity with month-end close processes
• Proficiency in using accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or Sage Intacct
• Ability to work independently, manage large, complex projects, and balance multiple tasks
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus but not require
Willingness to travel throughout Long Island
