Summary of the Sheeter Operator position:

  • Location: Hastings, Nebraska
  • Schedule: Rotating 12-hour day shifts, 6 AM - 6 PM
  • Pay: $19/hour
  • Job Type: Temporary-to-Permanent

As a Sheeter Operator, you'll play a crucial role in our production process. Your primary responsibility will be operating the sheeter machine to cut rolls into sheets of specified board size and quality. While manufacturing machine experience is strongly preferred, it is not required as training is provided for the right candidates.

Responsibilities of the Sheeter Operator:

  • Follow computer instructions to print reports post-job completion.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including ISO 9001-2000 forms.
  • Use various measuring devices (tape measures, calipers, gauges, micrometers).
  • Instruct and train other employees in all phases of work with minimal conflict.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machinery.
  • Use specification sheets to determine roll size and cut-off size.
  • Adjust the roll holder and PIV speed for different sheet sizes.
  • Operate sheeting machines efficiently.
  • Inspect products for quality deficiencies continuously.
  • Use an electric pallet jack to transport cut sheets.
  • Maintain cleanliness of machinery and workspace.
  • Follow AVP procedures and suggest improvements.

Qualifications for the Sheeter Operator position:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One to two years of machine operator experience/training preferably in the folding carton industry.
  • Proficiency in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Problem-solving skills for dealing with a variety of concrete variables.
  • Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
