Position Summary

  • The successful candidate will be a member of the Aetna Medical Economics Unit supporting the Aetna Membership Reporting Team (AMRS).

  • This position will participate in monthly accounting close functions while supporting audit requests, various ad hoc work, and projects.

  • This position will require working with IT and downstream systems for continued consistent, timely, accurate data and work with source systems on enhancements and streamlining efforts.

  • The right candidate may also have opportunities to cross train with the Pay for Performance payment audit team part time.

  • The ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset and be a fast learner who can work both independently and collaboratively with business units across the company to support future initiatives.

  • Comfort in a fast-paced environment with ability to prioritize multiple assignments to meet deliverables and quickly adapt to changes in workflows.

  • The ideal candidate will be self-motivated with great organization skills and an eye for details and streamlining workflows and processes.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the month-end close process which includes preparing loading datafiles from multiple sources, processing manual adjustments and producing reports for key stakeholders .

  • Develop working relationships with business stakeholders

  • Work with stakeholders to create ad hoc reports

  • Participate in process improvement efforts

  • Meeting tight deadlines within the context of potentially changing priorities, working both independently and facilitating cross-functional solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Possess a strong understanding of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office suite.

  • Requires strong communication skills creating a positive environment of teamwork with multiple business areas

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a professional environment

  • Ability to quickly adapt to change as workflows and programs continually evolve

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Access and/or mainframe applications

  • Experience with reporting tools : Power BI; SQL; Power Query, SmartView, Smart Query

  • Experience within the healthcare industry, healthcare data, common healthcare terminology and medical cost issues & strategies

  • Medical Economics, Informatics, or Finance experience

  • Able to meet the tight deadlines of the monthly Accounting close

  • SQL skills are highly desirable

  • Knowledge of Oracle, SAP, SAS, VBA, Python a plus

  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong process improvement skills/mindset

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a professional environment

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$46,988.00 - $112,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
