Title and Summary

Senior Accountant

Overview:

The Senior Accountant, Data & Services within the Data & Services Controller Group requires the individual to perform procedures critical to ensuring the integrity of the financial statements in partnership with the Global Business Shared Service organization and Regional controller groups and finance teams. The Data & Services Senior Accountant will support across all Data & Services business verticals within Controllership, providing advisory support to the business teams across several areas, including but not limited to, enforcing accounting memos and policies, approving deal structures and terms, and will ensure that strong controls are in place and are functioning as expected.

Role:

• Ensures integrity and accuracy of financials for verticals within Data & Services and has responsibility for ensuring compliance with policy and external and Corporate accounting requirements

• Prepares monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc management reporting including variance analysis and executive presentations

• Assist in financial decisions related to business transactions including revenue transactions, and vendor agreements by providing accounting/regulatory advice and by enforcing policies and procedures

• Assists in revenue contract reviews and Salesforce deal approvals

• Supports a strong control environment by monitoring and enforcing operational and SOX controls based on corporate guidelines and general governance standards

• Assists with the implementation of process improvements

All About You:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline

• Demonstrated experience across and with accounting and finance processes

• Certified Public Accountant or MBA preferred

• Strong US GAAP knowledge

• Strong analytical skills

• Experience reviewing and analyzing for appropriate accounting treatment

• Proactively builds relationships with business partners

• Hyperion, Salesforce & Oracle experience a plus

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
