DESCRIPTION OF WORK ACT915/90/35 Program provides service to approximately 1,100 non-public and private schools in Pennsylvania. The Act states that PDE will purchase textbooks and educational materials and loan them to Pennsylvanian students who attend non-public and private schools. The unit processes approximately 20,000 purchase orders (POs) and 50,000 invoices per school year and has an estimated annual budget of $26,000,000.

The Fiscal Assistant is responsible for specific and distinct fiscal and procurement functions and is required to demonstrate and apply a working knowledge of the regulations, rules and procedures related to invoice processing. The incumbent reviews POs submitted by the schools, reviews all incoming invoices for accuracy, reviews statements submitted by vendors, and resolves outstanding invoice issues.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment. Work hours are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You will have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. May change based on operational needs. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or An associate degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits in accounting; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
