The role involves carrying out entry-level construction inspection tasks within a training-oriented setting to verify that all aspects of project construction adhere to plans, standards, and policies. Responsibilities include conducting various technical tasks related to inspecting materials and workmanship on highway construction projects. On highway construction sites, the position entails performing a range of inspection and testing activities to ensure compliance with contract specifications, established standards, and certification requirements. Duties also involve inspecting routine phases of highway construction work, such as verifying grades, elevations, and the layout of roadways and basic structures. The role requires maintaining a daily written record, following Department procedures, documenting completed work, items for payment on current estimates, and certifying materials used. Additionally, the position involves assisting the project supervisor in preparing contractor payment estimates and progress reports that summarize project activities, including labor, materials, and equipment records. The individual will also assist in inspecting and conducting acceptance testing on concrete products at project sites to ensure compliance with specifications and standards. Attendance at environmental training sessions is mandatory as needed for the role. Proficiency in utilizing mobile technology advancements, specifically iPad Mobile Construction Apps like MCCID, MCMPT, MCPSA, VSIR, MCDocs, MCFA, MCPL, GeoSnap, among others, is essential for regular construction inspection tasks. The role also requires competence in computer-based project delivery processes using ECMS, PPCC, eCAMMS, Microsoft Teams, and other Microsoft Office 365 applications.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. The position will be reporting to various projects sites within York County, however limited travel to District 8-0 at 2140 Herr Street may be required. Travel reimbursement may be possible. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

An associate degree in surveying, drafting, designing, civil, or any other appropriate field of engineering technology. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
