Job Title: Medical Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in medical assisting, be proficient in handling patient updates, answering inbound phone calls, ordering labs, relaying lab results, scheduling follow-ups, and triaging patients. This role requires a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Perform follow-ups with patients

  • Enter patient updates and data into EMR system (Athena)

  • Answer inbound phone calls and manage inquiries

  • Order labs and relay lab results to patients

  • Schedule follow-up appointments

  • Triage patients and provide clinical support

Essential Skills

  • Experience in medical assisting (1+ year)

  • High School Diploma

  • Proficiency with EMR systems, specifically Athena

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Ability to order labs and manage lab results

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Ability to handle appointment scheduling and patient care

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Medical Assisting diploma or certification preferred

  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Experience with front desk operations and insurance processes

Work Environment

The position is based onsite at a clinic, working Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. The work environment is supportive and collaborative, with opportunities for professional growth and development.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
