Seeking a passionate leader of analytics, team, and organization with the following attributes:

The Director, Compliance Analytics supports the strategy and leads the development and implementation of compliance analytics programs and activities across the global compliance organization to enable business decisions and results, manage risk, and promote a culture of ethics and integrity. This position leads a team of experienced analytics professionals focused on compliance risks. We are looking for

Responsibilities and duties

  • Oversee the design, development and maintenance of analytics designed to provide business insights, enable risk-intelligent decisions, inform the compliance risk assessment process, and support remediation activities.

  • Responsible for leading a team to deliver analytics to support the Global Compliance program and provide actionable insights through data and analysis to achieve business objectives.

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team responsible for the analytics activities to support Stryker's mission and values and adherence to relevant laws, regulations, standards, and company policies.

  • Identify opportunities and implement advanced analytics, machine learning models, and AI

  • Partner with compliance systems and innovation team members on projects, such as making analytics available in technology solutions managed by the compliance systems.

  • Gather requirements or partner with compliance business analytics team to obtain analytics requirements.

  • Collaborates with compliance officers and other enabling functions to understand business objectives, and provides reliable and accurate reports, insights, and analysis to inform decision-making

  • Partner across the organization to share data and analytics insights to drive compliance control and remediation efforts.

  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of reports and presentations summarizing results and insights from analytics to enable decision making by leadership and external government agencies as requested.

  • Drive global consistency in Stryker's approach to compliance analytics.

  • Maintain knowledge regarding applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards; provide strategic input on modifications to the Compliance program to reflect changes in external environment or business strategy.

  • Identify, select, and manage external vendor relationships as needed.

  • Exercise independent judgment to make decisions of moderate impact to the company.

  • Develop strong relationships throughout multiple businesses and regions to foster a consistent and collaborative approach to proactive compliance.

  • Establish a strong tone at the top and further the department's strategic priorities.

  • Demonstrate excellent ability to identify issues, engage appropriate stakeholders, complete root cause analysis, and assess effectiveness of solution within area of responsibility.

  • Effectively inspire, educate, and empower others across multiple businesses and functions.

  • Identify areas where analytics can support Compliance strategy, goals, and objectives necessary to drive business results and effectively manage risk for the Company.

  • Maintain excellent knowledge of the organization and its operations; uses knowledge of business and compliance metrics to inform the strategy and goals.

  • Foster a continuous improvement mindset and proposes enhancements to the program informed by industry trends and best practices.

  • Collaborates with COs and enabling functions to understand business goals, objectives and challenges, and provides reliable and accurate reports, insights, and analysis to business leaders to support informed decision making

  • Analyzes and interprets complex data sets and communicates trends and findings to key legal and compliance stakeholders and business partners

  • Performs analysis of structured and unstructured data to solve complex business and department problems utilizing advanced statistical techniques and mathematical analyses

  • Leads the team to maintain and support the portfolio of analytics projects. Partners with the DA team to seek feedback from stakeholders to continuously evaluate and improve the quality of reports and dashboards

  • Partners with the DA team to identify and address opportunities for process enhancements as well as new analytical opportunities

  • Partners with the COs and LCs to identify opportunities where the DA team can help business gain insights with advance analytics tools and solutions

  • Partners with the DA team to develop data collection plans and collaborates with data SMEs to identify correct data elements, understand data content, discerning field meanings and assessing data quality

  • Develops and provides training to legal and compliance professionals on effectively using analytic tools and solutions in communicating meaningful insights and analysis to their business partners

  • Develops and maintains protocols, guidelines and associated documentation for the Legal and Compliance DA program

  • Maintains technical expertise of available analytics & reporting tools/software for self and team members. Keeps informed of new technologies to support Legal & Compliance department analytics and reporting needs

  • Develops strong relationships with relevant members of the Information Services (IS) department to leverage expertise and foster collaboration

  • Demonstrates strong ability to communicate technical concepts and solutions to business partners

Desired Profile

  • 12+ years of work experience required.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and clear understanding of the required elements of effective Compliance programs and experience with AdvaMed code and other relevant standards.

  • Data science background with experience implementing AI models and machine learning

  • Strong knowledge & experience in advance analytics tools and languages to analyze large data sets from multiple data sources

  • Strong understanding of algorithms, mathematical models, statistical techniques, data mining, like regression models, clustering/ segmentation, time series forecasting, decision trees/random forest, etc.

  • Proficiency in statistical tools/ languages such as R, Python, VBA or other tools/ languages

  • Demonstrates experience developing and leading large-scale, global initiatives.

  • Possesses excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills.

  • Demonstrates high level of professionalism, business acumen, and judgment.

  • Well-developed understanding of business financials and reporting and ability to effectively allocate resources for maximum impact.

  • Initiates, embraces, and supports change in a dynamic and complex environment.

  • Oversees complex work of moderate impact to the organization.

  • Strong focus on developing an organizational culture that fosters teamwork

  • Experience with analyzing accounting and other financial data.

  • Demonstrates excellent ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.

  • Possesses excellent understanding of the budgeting process, expense and headcount management, business financials, and ability to allocate resources for maximum impact.

  • Demonstrates excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Expertise in visualization tool like Microsoft PowerBI / Tableau / Qlik View / Spotfire

  • Advanced degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Data Engineering, Statistics, or Mathematics preferred

  • Undergraduate degree required, graduate degree preferred
