The Role

This position requires a background in software engineering and automated test frameworks. He/she will support the Digital Workplace Integration and Solutions team in the development of custom applications and services. The candidate will be responsible for software development, design and writing code to improve software testability from ground up.

The candidate will assist with all major project initiatives, enhancements, analysis, and day-to-day support. This role will require a flexible, agile approach to meet our changing business needs. The technologies and skills employed will vary but, at a minimum, will need solid understanding of REST APIs, OpenAPI Specification, API-first Development, DevOps, C#, SQL, Load Testing. The team will also be working on a microservice architecture, containerized applications, Kubernetes, Splunk Observability and exposure to these will be deemed a major plus.

The successful candidate will work in a team whose responsibilities include identifying, evaluating, and piloting new technologies, as well as driving technologies that increase end-user productivity across S&P globally.  Areas of focus include, but are not limited to, Developing applications, systems-integrations, automation. The candidate will be instrumental in providing innovative technical solutions to modernize the end-user experience across the entire enterprise.

The position requires * *

• Be part of multiple agile teams. Collaborate with the team and stakeholders to analyze system requirements.

• Adheres to S&P Global Values (Discovery, Partnership and Integrity).

• Strong background in software engineering, ability to write and analyze code to enable testability of software solutions.

• Strong background in DevOps and ability to integrate automated testing within new or existing CI/CD pipelines.

• Design, Plan, Develop and Manage automated API Testing suite.

• Be a change champion, have ability to drive initiatives, take ownership and see it to realization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering is required, or in lieu, a demonstrated equivalence in work experience.

• Strong Programming and current hands-on development skills with C# and Javascript.

• Strong RDMS and NoSQL concepts and ability to read/manage data. Experience creating and managing data for automated testing.

• Advanced understanding of REST Architectural style, OpenAPI Specification and API-first Development.

• Experience working with API Testing, API Mocking tools such as POSTMAN, ReadyAPI, Mockoon, Insomnia etc. Be able to rationalize on the use of tool.

• Experience working with Application Logging, Tracing, Monitoring and Observability tools such as Datadog, Splunk etc.

• Ability to help integrate automated testing in DevOps Pipelines.

• Understanding of Microservices Architecture

• Solid understanding of Authorization and Authentication protocols for Securing modern Applications and APIs like OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC).

• Ability to start the build automated testing capability from ground up and be able to drive the Agile Teams into the future with minimal supervision.
