WestRock Company Production Lead Hand - Afternoon Shift in Guelph, Ontario

Job Opportunity:

The Lead Hand will be responsible for the overall production. The Lead Hand must mainly ensure the correct operation of the production equipment and processes inside the plant. The position requires the work to be performed from a standing position and frequent mobility. The tasks required to be performed will constantly vary within a work period.

What are the job requirements:

  • Supporting teams as directed by the supervisors (ex. Fill in gaps, training, quality audits)

  • Lead shift when required.

  • Perform safety and quality audits.

  • Maintain work areas by keeping them clean and organized.

  • Other duties related to the job.

What you need to succeed:

  • Excellent eye for detail

  • Able to perform physical work throughout the day.

  • Able to lift up to 50lbs.

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

  • Able to work in an environment where there could be a high degree of variation, noise and dust.

  • Excellent team worker

  • Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills

  • Ability to work overtime as required.

  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule and fill gaps where needed.

  • Excellent attendance is required to fulfill operational needs.

  • Knowledge of flexography and the corrugated industry asset

What we require of the candidate:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D.

  • 3-5 years working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Knowledge of machinery and how to identify issues and troubleshoot equipment.

  • Positive, can-do attitude/initiative

  • Able to work steady afternoon shift - Monday to Friday

  • Able to work overtime as required.
