Spectrum Sr Dir, Platform Engineering in Greenwood Village, Colorado
JOB SCOPE
The Sr Director, Platform Engineering is responsible for strategic direction and management of Platform Engineering, Security & Compliance for Technology Operations, Platform Engineering Organization. Implement and enhance consistent software/platform engineering practices to ensure stable product delivery aligns with company initiatives and expectations. Support operations including technical services, code upgrades, and network operations. Direct project planning, capital budgeting and assist with business plan development. Ensure a high degree of cross functional communication and participation in line with product planning, deployment and support. Manages multiple programs, projects and initiatives.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the development, design, and maintenance of new software technology and initiatives which may include, but not limited to reliable software platforms & infrastructures, code architecture, development, unit and near neighbor testing and related equipment requirements.
Ensure the use of best practices in platform engineering, including automation and DevOps methodologies and collaborate with product management and other stakeholders to define and prioritize platform features and enhancements.
Lead executive programs focused on enhancing security and compliance across the organization, coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and effective communication, and monitor program progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols to protect company data and systems. Analyze security threats and compliance gaps, define customer-centric solutions, and serve as an expert on customer security threats and technology. Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Review selections on bids for contracted projects and provide recommendations as necessary, manage priorities and resolve escalations, establish and measure performance targets, champion new technologies as we scale for the future, oversee capital budget process and executes approved budget plan, and perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to exercise independent judgement and discretion in matters of significance
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively, showing judgment and initiative to meet deadlines based on the project requirements
Ability to lead a team through delegation, effective team management, motivation, and work with cross-functional team and senior leadership team.
Effective ability to track multiple test efforts simultaneously and to be able to synthesize the results in fast paced environment
Understanding in building Cloud native applications
Critical thinker, ability to negotiate with key stakeholders and maintain positive attitude
Demonstrated ability to display professional, positive, and approachable attitude/demeanor and discretion
In-depth understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
Ability to drive an innovation culture within the team
In-depth knowledge of network/cyber security and social engineering threats
Excellent understanding of security frameworks and regulatory requirements.
Ability to manage security and compliance initiatives.
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience
Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years
Software Engineering and Testing Experience - 10 years
People leadership and management experience of large teams that have successfully delivered software using Java, Python, and NoSQL technologies – 7 years
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Security or Compliance experience within heavily regulated industries such as Telecommunications, Healthcare, and/or Financial - 5 Preferred Education

The base pay for this position generally is between $155,600.00 and $275,800.00 . The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
