Insight Global Indirect Purchasing Manager in Greenville, South Carolina

Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Indirect Purchasing Manager for a large Automotive Manufacturing company in Greenville, SC. This individual with manages the purchasing transactions including, but not limited to, Capital negotiation, source selection, supplier negotiation and contract preparation as well as product rationalization and supplier consolidation. They will be working with a total spend of approx. $200 Million, with the main commodities being Tooling, MRO and services. The Indirect Purchasing Manager will manage a group of 4 buyers and monitor all aspects of the purchasing transaction and coordinate with appropriate internal and external parties to ensure appropriate financial, budgetary, legal, and other cross-functional requirements are met. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Manages the development and implementation of cost reduction strategies in support of the department's cost reduction goals and in conjunction with the manufacturing locations (TCO, Life cycle cost, plant priorities and emergencies)

* Validates and reports cost reduction data.

* Engages in internal systems improvement by brainstorming, developing, or implementing new techniques to address demands within Purchasing, performing special projects, or serving/leading on cross-functional teams.

* Monitors changes affecting supply and demand, market conditions, and price trends and initiates proactive commodity plans and strategies.

* Builds, communicates, and oversees strategic action for team.

* Communicates collaboratively with global counterparts, ensuring alignment of strategy and common understanding of ongoing issues to support the achievement of Purchasing objectives.

* Analyzes progress toward departmental milestones and initiates corrective action if needed to ensure that goals and deadlines are met.

* Supports requests from others for data creation, data confirmation, status updates, and other activities as needed.

Skills and Requirements

* BS degree w/ focus in Business/Supply Chain Management/Engineering/related field.

* 5+ years of experience within the indirect purchasing space

o 3+ years negotiating contracts.

o 2+ years leading/coordinating the work of other employees and/or contractors.

 Management practices (training, assigning work, checking timelines/quality of work).

* Proficient with Microsoft office

o Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint

* Experience working on multi-project timelines.

* Very good understanding of Total Cost of Ownership and Total Life Cycle Costing * Any professional certifications (i.e. -- CPP (certified purchasing professional), CSCP (certified supply chain professional), etc.

* Experience with Oracle

* Experience working within the automotive space

* Experience managing a team null
