General Summary:

The Associate Forester is responsible for providing the Company with forestry services. This will include conducting tree inventories, developing tree removal specifications, and overseeing tree removal. They will also be responsible for developing and implementing vegetation work plans, as well as conducting tree risk assessments.

What we are looking for: Associate Forester

  • Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or related field with 0-2 years of applicable experienceworking with utility companies.

  • [OR] Associate degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or related field with 4 or more years of applicable experienceworking with utility companies.

  • [OR] High School Diploma with 8 or more years of applicable experienceworking with utility companies.

In this role, you will:

  • Serve as the primary contact with clients, providing expert consulting services related to tree risk assessment, tree inventory, tree valuation, and tree removal.

  • Conduct on-site visits to Company assets on customer properties to assess tree health, identify potential risks, and recommend solutions. Prepare detailed reports outlining findings and recommendations for each site.

  • Collaborate with other departments within the CE to cross train and learn various forestry best practices.

  • Customer Interaction for internal/ external concerns bringing to final resolution.

  • Assist with storm restoration efforts with non-company crews for HVD and LVD systems.

  • Other non-essential duties as assigned or may be necessary.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of tree biology and risk assessment

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent communication, writing, and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and GIS software

Working Conditions:

Field operations: 90% of work is outdoors
