BAE Systems Summer Manufacturing Engineering Intern 2025 in Greenlawn, New York

Job Description

The BAE Systems site in Greenlawn (Suffolk County) NY is currently integrating all programs into a newly designed integrated Manufacturing and Quality Management system for all facets of Manufacturing build data and Quality data. As a summer 2025 Manufacturing Engineering Intern/Co-op, you will work on-site with experienced Technical Operations Engineers to convert all build instructions, bill of material and other critical information into the system. You will be exposed to a wide variety of build instructions for parts that get assembled and tested in support of high reliability defense electronics. After system training, interns will be responsible for performing a variety of computer-based tasks and coordinating schedules/completion with their mentors. Team members will have an opportunity to see the products that are built in the electronics facility and will get exposure to career opportunities across BAE Systems sites..

In this position, you will participate in BAE Systems' nationwide LEAP Internship & Co-op Program, where you will Learn, Engage, Apply, and Progress within the company. The LEAP Program will provide you with the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on impactful projects, engage in career development opportunities, and network with our business leaders and the other students in the program.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Entry level experience in technical field that has completed two years of an Engineering or related science based technical program. Candidates will gain experience aligned to an intern or co-op opportunity.

The following background and interests are important to success in this role:

-Engaged in programs such as: Engineering, Chemical, or other science based majors

  • High accuracy and attention to detail on data transfer and input into software tools.

  • Working knowldege of Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel.

  • Interest in learning new software systems to the level of full proficiency

  • Working in a team based environment including brainstorming sessions for continuous improvement.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $50182 - $67733

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20 hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
