Kellanova Sanitation Program Supervisor in Grand Rapids, Michigan

As a Sanitation Program Supervisor at our Grand Rapids facility, you will play a crucial role in championing the needs of the sanitation department while ensuring the whole plant is cared for at the floor level. This is a fully onsite position that will work the day shift Monday through Friday but will need to be flexible to cover other shifts as needed. You will collaborate with the Plant Sanitarian and other leaders to drive accountability and build and empower an agile sanitation team.

The Sanitation Program Supervisor will serve as the day-to-day lead on sanitation issues throughout the plant, working with employees at every level. High performing individuals can grow a career in Sanitation Program management as well as Quality and Food Safety roles.

A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing

  • Empower Your Team – You will be responsible for daily follow-up with the supervision team. You will champion the needs of the department through prioritizing input from the plant and from your own daily audits, and function as primary coverage for short supervision gaps 20-25% of the time for a crew of 12-20 people.

  • Strategize to Win – You will need to effectively manage time in a dynamic and demanding environment to plan weekend crewing, manage training needs for sanitation supervisors and the crew. Look ahead to upcoming windows of time to plan critical work, and work cross-functionally with maintenance, engineering, janitorial contractors, QFS, and HR/scheduling to continuously improve.

  • Drive Compliance – Bring your owner’s mindset to the table in this role as you drive program improvement initiatives forward. Clear communication will be key as you implement robust systems for Confined Space Entry compliance, uphold sanitation documentation requirements, perform follow-up investigations, and escalate any findings from daily audits with a preventative mindset to mitigate food safety problems.

  • Lead with Excellence – You will be a primary contact for department managers, janitorial management, skilled trades, and sanitation supervisors. You will report to the Plant Sanitarian to ensure department and plant needs are met.

    We’re Looking for Someone With

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Sanitation and supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment

  • Knowledge of chemical usage and safety

  • Ability to work off shifts and weekends as needed

  • Ability to work around holidays
