Aerotek CNC Programmer in Grand Rapids, Michigan

Job Title: CNC Programmer

Job Description

We are looking for a diligent and detail-oriented CNC Programmer to join our first shift team. You could start as early as 6 am or as late as 8/8:30 am. We are also open to candidates who prefer working first shift weekends. As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for interpreting Engineering Drawings/Blueprints and creating programs for CNC Mills in Nx. This is done offline in a dedicated computer room. Once the program is complete, you will go to the respective machine, pull the program, collaborate with the machinist to set up the machine, and run the part to prove it out. You will also conduct quality checks on the finished parts using micrometers and calipers, adhering to very tight tolerances, and make necessary corrections based on the engineering drawings. Your role will involve writing programs for 6 to 15 part numbers per week, primarily for engineering changes and improvements to existing products.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Work Environment

We operate in a job shop machining Center for the Aerospace industry. The production runs will be anywhere from 20-70 pieces. Our parts are complex and require adherence to very close tolerances. Please note that training will take place on the first shift for up to 90 days and our work is not high volume production-based.
