Description We are offering a role for a Cost Accountant in Grand Prairie, Texas. The successful candidate will work closely with both Finance and Operations to develop accurate costing and provide analysis of cost standards. This role entails collaboration with manufacturing teams to understand the full production process and ensure accurate coding of expenses.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to understand accurate bill of materials and gain an in-depth knowledge of the full production process

• Ensure accurate coding of expenses to COGS accounts on the P& L

• Timely reconciliations and reserve analysis (Excess & obsolete, capitalize manufacturing variances, etc.)

• Streamline inventory procedures and maintain consistent reports

• Analyze cost absorption and perform monthly variance analysis

• Manage and reconcile inter-company inventory transactions

• Compile month-end reporting around costing, standard COGS, and operational activities

• Ensure internal controls related to cost accounting and inventory are followed (Cycle counts, segregation of duty for inventory transactions, BOM changes, etc.)

• Lead excess & obsolete inventory analysis and determine appropriate inventory reserves

• Work with purchasing to ensure material costs are correct (currency, unit of measure, contractual changes, forecast changes, etc.)

• Lead the annual standard cost development and roll of the standard costs

• Collaborate with plant personnel to research standard margin variances and manufacturing variances each month

• Work with the Logistics Team and IT to understand current reporting metrics, develop improved reports and fully understand inventory transactions as it relates to the general ledger

• Continuously search for process improvements to increase efficiencies

• Assist Accounting, Finance, and Operations with ad-hoc requests and analytical projects as needed. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services

• Experience with CapEx

• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning

• Ability to navigate ERP Solutions

• Understanding of Accounting Functions

• Experience handling Accounts Payable (AP)

• Familiarity with Budget Processes

• Proficiency in Cost Accounting

• Experience in Cost Analysis
