Lockheed Martin Maintenance Carpenter in Grand Prairie, Texas

Description: Perform Finish Carpentry work to layout, alter, construct and repair a wide variety of wooden and wood substitute structures and equipment such as office partitions, building, cabinet work, doors, windows, picture frames, and furniture. Determine sequence of construction operations and plan job by selecting proper material and making working sketches of construction indicating sizes, dimensions, fastening and mating points, bracing members and other details when these are necessary and not furnished, being guided by blueprints, sketches, trade practice and verbal/written instructions. Study prints to detect dimensional errors. Recommend substitute materials when specified items are not available, or take requirements and devise article to fulfill specified needs. Devise work holding methods and fixtures on large volume orders. Perform any type of finish cabinet work such as the construction of cabinets, compartments, storage chests, chairs, tables, and other furniture. Operate Shaper and all other woodworking tools. Use mobile equipment to handle and move own materials and equipment. Keep work area clean and orderly.

Basic Qualifications:

-Equivalent to 2 years of high school plus 2-3 years of carpentry training.

-Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

-Can work in a diverse environment with little guidance.

-Ability to craft cabinets and customer requests as necessary from wood.

-Ability to read and interpret a tape measure and blue prints.

-Knowledge of door mechanisms, locks, and cabinetry.

Drills

Planers

Joiners

Radial Saws

Hand Power equipment

Desired Skills:

SAP Knowledge

Proven Customer Service

Cabinetry experience

Framing experience

Experience with blueprints and construction drawings

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
