Role Responsibilities:

The Quality Manager will lead a Claim Review team responsible for evaluating Claim Manager work and providing insights through industry-leading quality and risk management practices. This leader will work collaboratively with diverse cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate business risks, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and influence skills, along with a strong background in quality management, risk assessment, and business process optimization within the insurance or financial services industry.

What You'll Do:

  • Champion the vision of Quality throughout the organization, fostering a culture that embraces continuous improvement and innovation.

  • Act as a subject matter expert on review methodology and its application to various processes.

  • Research, interpret, and respond to inquiries from team members regarding identified quality trends and root cause analysis.

  • Lead change and influence colleagues at all levels to minimize risk exposure.

  • Build and maintain relationships with compliance, legal, and external audit partners (e.g., SOX, SSAE-16, and Corporate Audit).

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to evaluate review efficiency using quality methodologies based on actionable data, such as KPIs, internal evaluations, and data analysis.

  • Ensure effective communication of review results, delivering actionable insights to internal partners for strategic action plans.

  • Suggest improvements in the design, implementation, and monitoring of complex review programs.

  • Develop and implement review policies and procedures.

  • Design and develop a Quality Systems Strategy for Group Operations to ensure consistent delivery and measurable results aligned with customer expectations.

  • Manage the productivity and overall performance of the review team.

  • Support and develop team members through coaching and guidance, empowering them to demonstrate strong leadership.

  • Lead initiatives related to people management (in collaboration with HR), including compensation planning, performance management, staffing, employee relations, recruitment, training, and development.

  • Oversee the outcomes of audit calibration sessions.

  • Maintain audit databases and systems.

  • Lead the Quality Team in achieving internal quality and productivity goals, as well as meeting compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, internal audit, privacy).

What You'll Bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business, Risk Management, Insurance, or a related discipline).

  • At least 7 years of experience in quality management, risk management, or related roles, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of quality management principles, risk assessment methodologies, and regulatory requirements related to group benefit solutions.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively identify and mitigate business risks.

  • A proven track record of developing and implementing quality and risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures to drive continuous improvement.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

  • Strong business acumen and critical thinking skills to align quality and risk management initiatives with overall business objectives.
