We have an opportunity for a Computer User Support Specialist to join a dynamic, fast-paced environment providing IT end user support to the Ascension Island Service Desk team. Currently this is a n onsite eligible position ; however, V2X reserves the ability to assign to full time support requirement in the future .

This position is contingent upon successful contract award to V2X.

Responsibilities

Major Job Activities:

• Provide technical assistance to computer users.

• Answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, or via telephone or electronically.

• May provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.

  Material & Equipment Directly Used:

• May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions that require wear of hard hats, gloves, steel toed boots, hearing protection, safety glasses and other personal protection equipment (PPE) such as flak vest and Kevlar helmet; may be required to push, pull, and lift heavy equipment.

• Use of cell phones to maintain contact and accountability of work activities.

  Working Environment:

• The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside.

  Physical Activities:

• Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion.

• Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. This factor is important if the amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.

Qualifications

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED is required.

• One (1) - three (3) years of experience performing work related to the functions in the job description.

  Certifications:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret level Security Clearance.

• Must have a valid state Driver's License.

  Experience:

• Customer service, preferably gained within a call center-like environment.

• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience writing and verbally communicating with customers .

• Providing IT related support or troubleshooting .

• Great customer service skills.

  Skills & Technology Used:

• Strong analytical skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping abilities

• Willingness to work in varied weather conditions on a remote island.

• Ability to respond to emergency situations including after-hours calls.
