Robert Half Staff Accountant in Glenview, Illinois

Description We are looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in Glenview, Illinois. The role involves providing accurate and timely financial information, reconciling balance sheet accounts, managing inventory reporting, and conducting ad-hoc analysis as needed. This role will liaise with Operations, Sales, and Marketing to enhance overall performance and productivity, and effectively communicate with both internal and external partners.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for specified general ledger accounts

• Perform day-to-day general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and analysis for assigned functional areas

• Monitor and maintain accurate records of inventory, cycle, and physical counts

• Work closely with the procurement, warehouse, and finance teams to ensure seamless inventory management processes

• Research and resolve divisional inquiries from corporate or external partners

• Participate in the development, enhancement, and monitoring of company internal controls

• Provide financial support for various special projects including cost analysis, internal/external audits, sales/use tax audits, manufacturing surveys, and other ad-hoc requests

• Ensure company policies are being followed as well as implementation of new controls as they arise Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with the General Ledger

• Ability to create and manage Journal Entries

• Experience in Month End Close procedures

• Proficient in using NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred

• Professional certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus

• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
