The Impact You Can Make The Carpenter will build, erect, install, and repair forms, structures, and other fixtures made from wood and other materials as needed to assist with various types of construction projects. Responsible for interpreting drawings and proceeding with demolition and lay out of walls and ceilings. Will install new partitions including metal studs blocking and drywall and ensure that any partitions are rated appropriately. This will be accomplished by the correct application of Fire stopping materials. Responsible for installation of hollow metal frames for windows and doors, hanging doors and installing the appropriate hardware for the variously rated assemblies. Installation of metal ceiling grid and the appropriately rated tile for each assembly. To assist and paint drywall as required and install finish fixtures such as paper towel holders, mirrors, soap dispensers, vinyl handrail, wall guards, and any other items, as may be required. Or, have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the trade. * Metal stud and drywall experience preferred. * *Skills/Abilities: * Must be able to construct, repair, maintain and assist in the design of the facility, it’s out buildings and equipment using hand and power-tools as required. * Taping and painting skills strongly desired. Salary Range The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $20.67 to $31.00 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
