POSITION SUMMARY

The Glasgow Marriott is looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, and passionate Night Auditor to join our wonderful team.

Undergoing exciting refurbishment in 2024, the Glasgow Marriott Hotel offers welcoming comfort with a modern style, ideally situated in the city centre near premier attractions like OVO Hydro, Hampden Park, and the University of Glasgow. The Front Office Team is ready to move into their newly refurbished reception desk mid-May and our associates are eager to start connecting with guests about the refreshing transformation in this buzzing and vibrant city.

The Night Auditor sets the tone for every guest’s stay with a warm welcome, and you’ll be ready to answer to any questions and happy to offer information about the hotel services, facilities, and local area. You will take on responsibility for all functions relating to night audit, assuming responsibility of all hotel software systems, balancing all outlets to Opera and resolving discrepancies.

Our Night Auditors take the initiative to deliver a wide range of services that guide guests through their entire stay. They are empowered to move about their space and do what needs to be done. Whether processing operational needs, addressing guest requests, completing reports, or sharing the highlights of the local area, the Night Auditor makes transactions feel like part of the experience.

What you’ll do.

• Process guest check-ins, assigning rooms and activating room keys.

• Answer, respond to and process all guest calls, messages, questions or concerns.

• Provide accurate audit of all deskwork and transactions from the day and ensure full night audit function is carried out in accordance with hotel procedures, full audit documentation is completed and forwarded to the Finance team.

• Accurately record all relevant room and F&B statistics.

• Check daily ledger accounts for correctness, resolving any discrepancies.

• Give guests information and directions regarding property and local areas of interest.

• Process check-outs and resolving any disputed charges.

• Assist Night Audit Supervisor whenever necessary to ensure smooth night operations.

• Process payments and room charges.

• Confirm reservations and cancellations, running daily reports on the number of arrivals and departures.

• Ensure all areas of the hotel are maintained in a secure conditional with regular security checks carryout out.

Who we are looking for.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated individual who we anticipate will have worked in a similar role within the hospitality or travel and tourism industry. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is a fast learner, adaptable and has exceptional attention to detail, interpersonal and communication skills. You will need to be extremely efficient and professionally skilled in:

• Flexibility, problem-solving skills, and multi-tasking ability

• The ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time across a work shift.

• Previous experience in a similar hospitality setting preferred.
