Job Summary: As an Intermittent Positive Support Specialist, you will provide guidance, encouragement, support for the person supported to develop and implement a personal life plan that will result in reaching personal goals, development, increased strengths, skills and coping abilities; as required during overnight hours assigned. This position will participate as a team member that fosters an environment which supports people in pursuit of their hopes, dreams and personal outcomes creating a lifelong home for the people supported. This position will partner with Behavioral Analyst, Autism Specialists, Therapists, and Medical and other professionals to: Balance "Important To" (Personal preferences and goals) with "Important For" (Societal expectations, health and safety). Develop and implement support plans. Collect and analyze data. Adjustment of medications and support plans based on data collected. This position is allowed to sleep (generally 5 hours) but is expected to address concerns during the night and support individuals in morning hours. In this role you will provide structured continuity by working one on one or two on one to address any situation/s that may arise and ensure safety of the people supported, team members, and public. It will also ensure a safe and secure environment both in the home and in the community. Job Requirements: High school degree, GED or experience working with vulnerable populations required. Experience and/or training of at least one year with individuals with maladaptive behavioral history preferred. Comprehension of current MN statutes 245D, Positive Behavior Supports preferred. Medication administration training required (may be obtained after hire). First Aid training required, and CPR Certificate may be required (may be obtained after hire). MANDT training required. Knowledge and experience of behavior management techniques. Physicality to implement positive support strategies and to walk long distances. Bureau of Criminal Affairs (background study) clearance required. Driver's license required. Motor Vehicle Check (MVR) with a satisfactory driving record required. Ability to read, write, and use computer required. Basic math and problem-solving skills required. Ability to recognize boundaries and relate to a wide variety of people. Ability to suggest and implement strategies to enhance the service. Patience, self-control, self-directed, flexibility, attention to detail, ability to comply with support plan consistently, meet deadlines. Knowledge of local community resources.
