Team Gilbert has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the position of Utility Technician Senior-Water Distribution.
The Utility Technician Senior in Water Distribution reports to the Water Distribution Supervisor. The primary function of this position is to lead and coordinate the on-site crew that perform skilled work in the installation, maintenance and repairs in the Town's water lines distribution system. Maintain repairs, replaces and adds to the water distribution and transmission system pipes, valves, hydrants, lateral and other equipment while making sure crew are job site is safe, and work area is kept clean. Depending on scope of work may be involved in capital improvement projects, which could include coordinating contractor activities, shutdowns, and project planning.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and problem-solving abilities and be able to make independent decisions. Also desirable are good time management, and the interpersonal and communication skills needed to maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
This position is an At-Will position and is FLSA Non-Exempt - eligible for overtime compensation.

High School Diploma or GED
1 year of specialized or technical training beyond high school in water distribution and related equipment.
3-5 years of experience in operating heavy equipment, construction methods and practices related to underground utilities.
2 years of supervisory experience or Crew Leader experience.
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Class A Commercial Driver's License with Tanker Endorsement at the time of hire.
Grade II Water Distribution Certification (ADEQ) at the time of hire.
