Modernization System Engineer

Job Overview :

As a Modernization System Engineer , you will be working in Otis’ European Lead Design Center to identify, standardize and optimize product offers for modernization customers in accordance with Otis’ Model Based System Engineering (MBSE).

As a worldwide company you will have the opportunity to work and meet with colleagues from around the world (Madrid, Berlin, Břeclav (Czech Rep.), Farmington (US), …).

You will report to the R&D Modernization Engineering manager who will be able to offer you training, growth and personal development opportunities within our company.

During a typical day, your main missions will be :

• Understand and know the different subsystems that make up the elevator.

• Understand and know the life process of the elevator from its design to start-up.

• Know the current product range Otis.

• Integrate and improve Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) for Modernization products.

• Prepare technical documentation and development of elevator projects.

• Define compliance and validation plans for components, products or projects according to Otis robust design processes.

• Review projects carried out by other areas and evaluate their impact on Modernization products.

• Work with the team to jointly define common objectives taking into account the areas of design, manufacturing and documentation.

• Perform tests, plan tests in laboratory and test tower.

• Make visits to facilities or jobsites to conduct tests in real units.

• Define and plan the projects according to the priorities of the EMEA Modernization’s area.

• Participate in agile methodologies using tools such as JIRA and CONFLUENCE together with the rest of the Otis EMEA Engineering departments.

• Communication and participation with other factories and engineering companies of Otis on international projects

What you will need to sucess :

• Degree Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering

• English: Level C1 (international projects, English is essential to ease communication with other countries)

• Previous experience in the sector

• Microsoft Office 365 domain

• Knowledge of 3D and 2D design programs (CREO or similar 3D CAD; AUTOCAD or similar)

• Knowledge of electrical design programs type E3 or similar.

• Knowledge in Agile methodologies
