CARFAX for Police works directly with thousands of police agencies across the United States and Canada. We’re committed to supporting and enhancing our products for agencies, and during each step of the process we ensure that officers get the most out of the tools. As a development team, we are responsible of building new investigative tools, crash report collectio, analysis tools, and integrate shared services to provide new features to police force.

The Impact: As part of Team CARFAX, you will provide the day-to-day leadership necessary for CFP product development team. You & your team will partner with Product Management, Project Services and Data Center Operations to develop, deliver, and support our Webapps, Mobile apps, APIs and Batch systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team of twenty one Software and Quality Assurance Engineers and three team leads via mentorship and toward being Self-Organizing and Self-Directed

  • Execute Project & Individual Goals & Objectives that align with our Departmental & Corporate Game Plans

  • Coach the team in applying Agile, Lean & Xtreme Programming methods.

  • Work with your team to organize an approach and plan that will meet the expectations in the most efficient and effective manners possible

  • Measure the results & lead continuous improvement activities

  • Liaise with Stakeholders to provide Tech guidance and joint decision making

What We’re Looking For:

  • Prior experience of 2+ years in similar position

  • Performance Management

  • Fluent Communication in English with Technical and non-Technical audiences

  • Leadership within a Product Development Organization using Agile Methods

  • Decision Maker

  • Collaboration

  • Balancing Internal and External Priorities

  • Involvement in Projects and Production Support

  • Degree in Computer Science

  • Hands on experience in Software Development related to some or all of our Tech Stack:

  • JVM programming language (Java/Kotlin/Groovy)

  • React

  • Spring framework

  • REST/GraphQL

  • AWS

  • SQL/NoSQL Database

  • TDD, BDD and DDD - Unit, integration, functional, performance, e2e testing

  • Gradle/yarn

  • Gitlab
